Africa Wiki Women forme de nouveaux contributeurs Wikipédia à Antananarivo Madagascar

Cette initiative s’inscrit également dans une dynamique plus large de démocratie numérique, en favorisant l’accès libre au savoir et la participation citoyenne à la production d’informations, notamment pour les femmes sous-représentées.

 

L’organisation Africa Wiki Women a organisé un atelier de formation à la contribution sur Wikipédia et Wikidata à Antananarivo, Madagascar.

 

L’activité a été coordonnée et animée par Raveloaritiana Mamisoa, formatrice Wikipédia et coordinatrice de la communauté Africa Wiki Women, également membre du Wikimedia User Group Madagascar. La formation a été assurée avec le soutien de Nampoina Liantsoa, formatrice Wikidata et membre du même groupe local.

 

 

Renforcer la représentation des femmes africaines en ligne

 

Fondée en 2023, Africa Wiki Women est une initiative communautaire visant à réduire les inégalités de genre sur les projets Wikimedia. Elle encourage la participation des femmes africaines à la production de connaissances en ligne, notamment sur Wikipédia et Wikidata, afin de mieux documenter les savoirs et les figures féminines du continent.

 

Dans ce cadre, l’atelier d’Antananarivo s’inscrit dans une série d’initiatives francophones visant à renforcer les compétences numériques des participantes et à améliorer la visibilité des femmes malgaches sur les plateformes Wikimedia.

Une vingtaine de participants formés

 

Au total, 20 participants ont pris part à la formation, dont 16 femmes et 4 hommes. L’atelier avait pour objectif de familiariser les participants avec les outils de contribution sur Wikipédia et Wikidata, tout en encourageant la création et l’amélioration d’articles en langue malgache.

 

 

Lors de la session pratique, chaque participant a contribué à la création ou à l’amélioration d’au moins deux articles sur Wikipédia.

 

Selon l'organistrice, l’engagement observé devrait se poursuivre au-delà de l’atelier afin de continuer à enrichir les contenus en langue malgache sur les projets Wikimedia.

« Voir autant d’enthousiasme pour enrichir Wikipédia en langue malgache montre que notre histoire doit être écrite par nous-mêmes», a déclaré Raveloaritiana Mamisoa.

 

Une participante, Maminirina, a expliqué : « Cet atelier m’a permis de comprendre comment contribuer à Wikipédia et de participer à la valorisation des femmes malgaches. En tant qu’étudiante en langue malgache à l’Université d’Antananarivo, je souhaite désormais écrire sur des femmes écrivaines de notre pays. »

 

 

À travers cette initiative, Africa Wiki Women réaffirme son engagement en faveur de la réduction des inégalités de représentation des femmes dans les projets Wikimedia et de la promotion des connaissances libres en Afrique.
